Časlav Klonimirović Vlastimirović (
Serbian Cyrillic : "Часлав Клонимировић Властимировић") was the ruler ("Knez/Župa n") ofSerbia . He ruled from 927 until his death in 960.He was born and raised in the Bulgarian capital Preslav, the son of
Klonimir , grandson ofStrojimir , and the last and the most powerful of the descendants of theUnknown Archont .He liberated the central Serbian tribes from
Bulgaria n empire, after the death of Simeon I in 927. . Together withZahumlje ,Pagania ,Travunia , Zeta (Duklja ) andRaška , Časlav established a Serb state that encompassed the shores of theAdriatic Sea , the Sava river and the Morava river valley as well as today's northern Albania. According to "Chronicle of the Priest of Duklja ", Časlav was killed in battle against Magyars in 960.After Časlav's death, the
