Simon Hollingsworth

Simon Hollingsworth

Simon Hollingsworth (born May 9, 1972) competed both nationally and internationally for Australia in the 400 metres hurdles. He participated in both the 1992 and 1996 Olympic Games, as well as the Commonwealth Games and World Athletics Championships.

Hollingsworth still holds the record at under 18 level in the 400m hurdles with a time of 50.45 seconds. He studied in the University of Oxford (Exeter College) as a Rhodes Scholar and has degrees in Commerce, Law, and Philosophy, Politics, and Economics. Hollingsworth continues to aid in the development of athletics in Australia through his membership of the Athletes commission and has acted as chairperson of the Commission since 2000. He currently works in the Victorian Department of Premier and Cabinet as Director of the Resources and Infrastructure branch.
