Katherine Schipper is an American accounting researcher and educator.
Currently a professor of accounting at
Duke University , [http://www.fuqua.duke.edu/faculty/alpha/schipper.htm] she has also been a professor atUniversity of Chicago andCarnegie-Mellon University . She is a past president of theAmerican Accounting Association .For many years, she was editor of the "Journal of Accounting Research".

She began a five year term as a member of the
