Its seat is the town of Annopol, which lies approximately convert|25|km|mi|0 west of Kraśnik and convert|64|km|mi|0|abbr=on south-west of the regional capital Lublin.

The gmina covers an area of convert|151.07|km2|sqmi|1, and as of 2006 its total population is 9,359 (out of which the population of Annopol amounts to 2,690, and the population of the rural part of the gmina is 6,669).
