Stocksbridge Works F.C. was a football club based in
Stocksbridge ,South Yorkshire ,England .The club played in the Sheffield Association League before they joined the Yorkshire League in 1949. They won the Division Two title in 1951 and went on to win the league championship on seven occasions, in 1952, 1955, 1956, 1957, 1958, 1962 and 1963. Stocksbridge were relegated in 1964, but bounced back with a Division Two title in 1965. They were relegated again in 1966, promoted again in 1967, then relegated again in 1968. By 1970 they were in the newly created Division Three, which they won in 1971. After being relegated back to Division Three in 1973, Stocksbridge won the title again in 1975 only to go straight back down in 1976. They were promoted from Division Three once more in 1979, only to get relegated again in 1980. Works won the Yorkshire League Cup in 1962 and the
Sheffield and Hallamshire Senior Cup in 1952.In 1982 the Yorkshire League merged with the
Midland Football League to form theNorthern Counties East League . Stocksbridge were placed in Division 2 South until 1984 when they were moved into Division 1 Central. In 1985 the league moved Stocksbridge again, this time into Division Three.
