Pennyhooks Project

The Pennyhooks Project is a program run by Lydia Otter to teach autistic children. Based on Pennyhooks Farm, the project is in place to help autistic children overcome their problems by encouraging them rather than pointing out that what they find difficult. This ground-breaking project help people who have Autism/Aspergers, by dealing with their behavioural issues. The farm offers the students the Countryside Stewardship Course and assists in the transaction between school and work on a level that isn't stressful for the students.

Pennyhooks Farm

The usual day for the students involves nothing more that animal care, country walks and the building of conversational skills.
The Farm specialises in Aberdeen Angus Beef and has done so for two generations.

Farm Residents

Lydia Otter, born 1956, is a well-trained teacher for people with autism.

Richard Hurford, a Probation Officer who also manages the work and running of the farm.

Geoffrey Otter is the farm owner and father of Lydia.
