Leabhar Breac

Leabhar Breac is an Irish language publisher based in Indreabhán in the County Galway Gaeltacht of Cois Fharraige. [ [http://www.leabharbreac.com Leabhar Breac Publishers website] ]

Specialising in fiction, and named after the 15th century manuscript "An Leabhar Breac", the publishing house was founded in 1995 by Darach Ó Scolaí and Caomhán Ó Scolaí. Leabhar Breac initially specialized in literary fiction, and recently expanded to publish children's fiction.

The company commenced publishing with Liam Mac Cóil's first novel "An Dochtúir Áthas", and has since published all his literary work. It's most recent publication is Sadb Nic Fhionnbharr and Laura de Búrca children's book, "Puisín". Leabhar Breac received the Gradam Uí Shúilleabháin award in 2006 for Liam Mac Cóil's Fontenoy.

Leabhar Breac is a registered trading name of the limited company, "Breacán Teoranta".
