Ussangoda

Ussangoda is a place of natural beauty, situated on Colombo - Kataragama road near Nonagama in Hambantota District of Sri lanka. It is also a natural reservation. Ussangoda is a small mountain at the edge of sea shore and spread over a large area. But only covers with grass and very small area is covered by the pigmy forest.

Importance

Ussangoda is an unusual place by Soil structure, Flora, Location. So people believe this is a part of a meteor. Reason for that is soil of Ussangoda is like a brick which is unique to ussangoda which only covers with grasses. Summit of Ussangoda is like a huge play ground . When we talk about beach it is a safe place to swim and covered by a coral reef. Also there are lot of folk stories on Ussagoda.
