Podsljeme

Podsljeme

Podsljeme is in the foothills of Zagreb's mountain Medvednica and its name means "under Sljeme" (Sljeme is the peak of the Medvednica mountain). It has the status of "četvrt" (quarter, neighbourhood) and as such has an elected council. The historic Medvedgrad castle is located in the district.

Podsljeme had 17,744 residents in 2001. Its residents are mainly middle class.
