Riding academy

Riding academy

A riding academy is a school for instruction in equestrianism, or for hiring of horses for pleasure riding.

At the time of the Napoleonic Wars, the riding academies were so popular that some of the largest buildings in the capitals of Europe were built to accommodate them (e.g., Moscow Manege).

In recent decades Western society has become more litigatious and the industry has suffered due to soaring insurance costs, but there are moves in some countries, such as Australia to put a cap on these premiums.
