, is a Shinto shrine in Yaizu, Shizuoka, Japan.

History and Legend

According to "Suruga-no-Kuni Fudoki", the Yaizu Shrine was established in 409. Yamatotakeru was trapped and almost burnt to death when he was on a journey around Yaizu. However, he succeeded in escaping from the fire by swinging the magical Kusanagi Sword. To memorize this event, the shrine was built.
