The Breathless Tour 2008 is the second UK tour by Shayne Ward. It will take place in May 2008, in support of his second album "Breathless". The tour commenced six months after the release of "Breathless". At the moment Ward has only visited venues in the United Kingdom and it has become highly unlikley that he will tour the rest of Europe and/or Asia in the forthcoming year as he has had to cancel UK dates due to conflict in his schedule.

"Production"

The shows include songs from Wards new album "Breathless" and songs from his debut album "Shayne Ward" and each show is split up into five sections each with a different sound and outfit.
Rehearsals started in March and Ward appears on stage flanked with dancers and a live band plus backing singer.

The stage was created by 'Litestructures' South Kirkby, West Yorkshire and was constructed from standard LiteDeck components, the stage also features a 16' x 4' ramp, mounted on leg frames, a man-lift, and is set off by 21 polished handrails. The tour kicked off on May 12, 2008 at the SECC in Glasgow, Scotland with the first leg ending with a show at the 'Theatre Royal' in Castlebar, Ireland on August 30, 2008. After taking a break to record in Los Angeles Ward returned to Asia to tour on the Hennessy Artistry Festivals in cities including Beijing and Hong Kong. The third leg is set to begin in Minehead, England at the Butlins Holiday Camp as part of Butlins' Arena Break. The Support Acts for the tour are Anusha an upcoming British Asian singer [ [www.anushaonline.com Anusha - Support Act] ] and Stonefoxx a Girl Trio from England. [ [http://www.stonefoxx.com/ The Official Stonefoxx Website ] ]

There is also a thirty minute interval after the support acts and before Ward appears on stage. The interval is filled by 'Blink TV' on the big screens which show videos of other artists for example: 'Leona Lewis'. It also has a frequent montage of Ward clips shown over an instrumental of his song 'Breathless' to get the crowds screaming.

At the show in Manchester there were four support acts the above two, a solo artist named ChrisMac and a two-piece girl group called Destiny. The group Destiny is the group Ward was in previous to him winning The X Factor.

Anusha will only be going as far as Liverpool on the tour, with Stonefoxx continuing on to Cork, it is unknown who or if anyone will support for the rest of the tour.

DVD/Recording

The Manchester show was recorded as audience member saw patrons with cameras during the night. Ward recently posted video blogs of backstage at the Manchester show proving that the show or some of the show was recorded, it was announced in August 2008 by Wards record label that this was originally for a DVD, but is now just for personal and archive use.

Cancelled Dates

Ward was supposed to be performing on July 26, 2008 in Saffron Walden at the Audley End picnic concert, this show was cancelled due to conflict with his recording schedule in North America. However it was stressed to the fans that the cancellation was not Ward or his labels fault but blame was put down to the tour promoter.

ell Out Shows

To date it has only come to knowledge that two shows completely sold out the venue, these been the two shows in Cork, Ireland. However, most shows sold out the amount of tickets that were made available for purchase.

hows with Westlife

Some shows Ward performed at were shared with Irish boyband Westlife. The band personally asked Ward and his management if it was possible for him to be the support act at selected shows in Ireland as part of their 2008 tour to celebrate Westlife's 10 year anniversary.
