Leon Feldhandler

Leon Feldhendler (died April 1945) was the son of a rabbi from Lublin.

Feldhandler was deported to the Sobibór extermination camp in 1943. He organised the resistance in the camp and collaborated with Alexander Pechersky in the revolt of October 14, 1943, that led to the mass break out of more than 300 prisoners. He hid in Lublin until the end of the occupation in 1944. In 1945 he was killed there by Armia Krajowa soldiers during a pogrom.

In the movie "Escape from Sobibor" he was played by Alan Arkin.
