"Thomas Kinkade's Home for Christmas," also known as "The Christmas Cottage," is a Michael Campus film due for release in December 2008. It tells the story of the inspiration behind Thomas Kinkade's painting "The Christmas Cottage", and how the now-popular artist was motivated to begin his career after discovering his mother was in danger of losing their family home.

Cast

25-year-old Jared Padalecki plays Thomas Kinkade and Oscar-winner Marcia Gay Harden plays his mother Maryanne. The veteran actor Peter O'Toole plays his mentor Glenn.

Pushed Back

The film's theatrical release date has been pushed back for a full year. It was originally scheduled for a December 2007 release, but final edits and music rights have delayed the opening. While most movies suffering a delayed release would have no trouble opening a month, two, three or four after the original release date, "Thomas Kinkade's Home for Christmas," being a Christmas holiday season film, has to wait an entire year.
