Francis Tallents (1619–1708) was a non-conforming English
Presbyterian clergyman.Born in
Derbyshire , Tallents studied atPeterhouse, Cambridge andMagdalene College, Cambridge , where he became a Fellow and subsequently President. He was appointed minister of St. Mary's,Shrewsbury in 1652, but ejected forNonconformity in 1662. His 1705 "History of Schism" involved him in controversy with the nonjuring clergymanSamuel Grascome (1641–1708).Works
