- Paul Chien
Paul Kwan Chien (b 1947) is a
Chinese-American biologist known for hisresearch on thephysiology andecology of intertidalorganisms and his support forintelligent design and other forms ofcreationism .cite news | url=http://www.discovery.org/scripts/viewDB/index.php?command=view&isFellow=true&id=52 | title=Paul Chien, Senior Fellow - CSC | publisher=Discovery Institute |date= 2008 | first= | last= | accessdate =2008-05-17]Chien was born in 1947 in Hong Kong and earned bachelors degrees in Biology and Chemistry from
Chung Chi College of the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1966 and his Ph.D. in 1971 from theUniversity of California at Irvine in the laboratory of marine invertebrate physiologist, Dr. Grover C. Stephens. After a brief postdoctoral fellowship in the laboratory of Dr. Wheeler J. North at theKerckhoff marine laboratory of theCalifornia Institute of Technology in Corona del Mar, California, he joined the faculty of theUniversity of San Francisco in 1973. His research has involved the transport ofamino acids andmetal ions acrosscell membranes as well as thedetoxification mechanisms of metal ions. Wedge document as leading its "Paleontology Research program", [ [http://www.antievolution.org/features/wedge.html Wedge document] ] in spite of the fact that, by his own admission, he has no credentials in that field. [cite book
