Brant Rustich

Brant Rustich

Brant Rustich (born January 23 1985 in San Diego, California) is a right-handed minor league baseball pitcher who was drafted by the New York Mets in the 2nd round, 93rd overall pick, in the 2007 Major League Baseball Draft; he was signed by the Mets on June 16. In his first professional season, Rustich had a 3-0 record, with a 1.57 earned run average in 23 innings with a 2/21 strikeout to walk ratio. Known for his 97mph fastball, and a power-slider, Rustich was recently ranked the 6th overall New York Mets prospect by "Baseball America". Rustich was also noted for having the best fastball in the Mets minor league organization.
