Bucknell University before becoming a White Sox in his early 30's. He had one great season in 1954 when he made theAmerican League All-Star Team. That year, he went 16-9 with 3.09 ERA in over 200innings pitched . His 14complete games that year was 9th in the league. He would never again have a season like that, although he did have one highlight: no-hitting the Washington Senators onAugust 20 , by|1957 in the second game of adoubleheader atComiskey Park . He retired in 1958 after going 40-36 through his whole career.ee also
