Place Rosemère is a super regional mall in
Rosemère, Quebec , at the intersection ofQuebec Autoroute 640 and Boulevard Curé-Labelle, and only one mile away fromQuebec Autoroute 15 . Its anchor stores areWal-Mart ,Sears ,The Bay ,Zara , and Pharmaprix (Shoppers Drug Mart). It also has 215 stores, including afood court of 10restaurants .Place Rosemère began modestly when it first opened in
1975 with 65 stores, anchored byWoolco ,Canadian Tire , andProvigo . Woolco has since been acquired byWal-Mart .A first expansion, opened in
1991 , relocated the Canadian Tire store into the new section, along with the newly-openedThe Bay store. This expansion brought the mall to 150 stores. Another expansion, opened in2001 , brought the mall to its current size and layout as Wal-Mart moved to a new location in the mall's expansion andSears moved into the old Wal-Mart store. This expansion coincided with the closing of two other anchor stores whenCanadian Tire moved to a stand-alone location across the street andProvigo , one of the last supermarkets to be located in a Canadian regional mall, closed its doors. The old Canadian Tire store has been subdivided into small shops, and the old Provigo store is now divided betweenZara and Pharmaprix. [cite web
