Its seat is the town of Prusice, which lies approximately convert|11|km|mi|0 north-west of Trzebnica, and convert|28|km|mi|0 north of the regional capital Wrocław.

The gmina covers an area of convert|158.02|km2|sqmi|1, and as of 2006 its total population is 9,164 (out of which the population of Prusice amounts to 2,203, and the population of the rural part of the gmina is 6,961).
