Sunway Group (myx|4308) also known as Sunway Holdings Incorporated Berhad commenced operations in 1986, mainly to develop the Bandar Sunway township in Petaling Jaya. Following the success of the township, the Group has since grown and diversified into property investment, leisure and entertainment, hospitality and healthcare although always with property development as its core business and key contributor to profitability.

Sunway Group is led by its founder, Dr. Jeffrey Cheah. He is the current Chairman and sits on the board of the Federation of Public Listed Companies, The National Kidney Foundation, The Board of Trustees of the Malaysian Liver Foundation and the Malaysian Business Council. The managing director of Sunway Group is Mr Yau Kok Seng who assumes day to day management of the conglomerate's activities.

Group Structure

The parent company of Sunway Group is Sunway Holdings Incorporated Berhad. It is listed on Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad since 16 February 1984. It changed its name from Sunway Holdings Sdn Bhd (SWH) to Sungei Way Holdings Berhad on 13 February 1983 and assumed its present name on 23 December 1999.

The other publicly listed subsidiary includes Sunway Infrastructure Berhad and Sunway City Berhad. The main activities of Sunway Infrastructure Berhad is managing toll road concessions and Sunway City Berhad manages portfolio of property and real estate investments.
