Comeback

Comeback

A comeback is the return of a person of public interest, a style or fashion in the mid-point of media interest. The term is predominantly used in politics, sports and pop music. In the case of a band, the term reunion is used. In sports, a comeback also occurs when a trailing team makes a turn for the better to win or even the game.

Well-known comebacks include those of boxer Muhammad Ali after a three-year break from 1967 until 1970, and singer Yusuf Islam, who found earlier success as Cat Stevens and was not active from 1978 until 1995. In the NBA, the Utah Jazz achieved a 36-point comeback over the Denver Nuggets in 1996.
