It is also the sequel to the original video animation "". This OVA does not return to the "Kaleido Star" storyline, instead introducing a new plotline altogether.

Subtitled 'The Layla Hamilton Story', this story describes Layla as the actress playing "Phoenix" in a Broadway play. Faced with the mounting responsibilities of the role, Layla takes off on a journey of discovery to find out the missing parts of herself.
