Glyka Nera (Greek: Γλυκά Νερά meaning "sweet water"), is a suburb in the northeastern part of Athens, Greece. The Hymettus mountain is to the west and southwest. The nearest Athens Metro subway station is at Doukissis Plakentias subway station. It serves access with the Attiki Odos (numbers 6 and 63), the main section was served to its east but by March 2004, it now has its own interchange with the Hymettus Ring with Lavriou Avenue. The Attiki Odos runs to the northeast and east while the Hymettus rung runs slightly south of the centre. A tunnel is to its northwest. It is located SE of GR-1/E75 (Athens - Lamia - Thessaloniki), E and SE of Kifissia Avenue, W of Rafina, NW of Sounio and Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport and about 12 km NE of downtown Athens. Another main street was a difficult road linking to GR-1.

The area were made up of farmlands. Farmlands used to dominate the land which included groves. In the 1980s and the 2000s, urban development and a few businesses replaced much of the farmlands. The remaining farmlands are around Glyka Nera. The Penteli mountains to the northeast. The higher parts of the mountains of Aegaleo and the Hymettus to the south can also be seen. The forests lie to the southwest and to the west and where one of Hymettus' forest can be seen. The Fourezi hill lies to the west.

The construction of the junction with the Hymettus Ring with a few lanes heading to Rafina began in the 2000s, in 2002, it was halfway done. The superhighway with the Hymettus Ring wasn't paved until 2004 or opened until early to mid-2004. The junction is about 2 km from downtown Gerakas. Nearby residential area are southwest of the interchange and an IKEA store is nearby the area in which after the Greek victory of Euro 2004 on July 5, 2004, the bus passed near IKEA with people by the side of the street.

Glyka Nera has schools, a few lyceums, a few gymnasia, banks, a post office and squares ("plateies") including Agia Triada square.
