St. Louis Central Breweries F.C.
- St. Louis Central Breweries F.C.
St. Louis Central Breweries F.C. was a short lived U.S. soccer team which won the 1935 St. Louis Soccer League and U.S. Open Cup titles. It was renamed St. Louis Shamrocks in 1935.
History
Teams in the St. Louis Soccer League depended on corporate sponsorship. As a result, the teams would frequently change names as their sponsor changed. In 1934, the team sponsored by the Stix, Baer and Fuller department store, known as Stix, Baer and Fuller F.C. (SBF), changed its sponsorship to St. Louis Central Breweries. SBF had won two consecutive league and Open Cup titles. The newly renamed team continued to find success, winning both the 1935 SLSL and Open Cup titles. Despite this success, the team changed sponsorship in 1936, becoming the St. Louis Shamrocks.
