Aiz Lynch is an Australian singer who once fronted the notorious and controversial Candy Harlots after replacing original singer Mark Easton who quit the band on March 22 1991. Aiz fronted the band during their most commercially successful period.

History

Aiz began his music career in a small time band called 'Backstreet Shuffle' who had opened for the Candy Harlots on numerous occasions. The band were impressed by Aiz's powerful voice and when the time came for them to find a new singer to front the band, they went to Aiz to ask him if he was interested in joining, despite the fact that there were many others who wanted to become the next Candy Harlots vocalist.

Aiz accepted the offer immediately, as he was a long time fan of the band, and was soon to become the catalyst that was to land the band a deal with a major record label, Virgin Records. The band's ex-manager, Andrew McMannus had mentioned in an interview that after Virgin representatives had seen the band perform for the first time with Aiz at the General Bourke Hotel in Parramatta, Sydney (a gig which broke the house capacity record, with 900 fans eager to see the new incarnation of the Harlots) they had requested a demo tape of the band which they would use to determine whether the band was worthy of a recording deal. McMannus has also mentioned that it was the Aiz penned 'What Are We Fighting For?' that won them over, and eventually convinced them that the Candy Harlots were suitable for their label. After only fifteen gigs with the Candy Harlots, Aiz fronted the band for their slot as support act during AC/DC's Razors Edge tour.

The band went on to record their one and only album (Five Wicked Ways) which received mixed reviews, although most of them positive. The album was to eventually peak at #15 on the national charts, and featured the singles 'The Lady Shakes' and 'Backstreet Boys', both of which peaked at #6 on the national charts.

After only two years in the band, Aiz was sacked for reasons unknown. The band went on to replace him with 19 year old Hayden Watt, although the Hayden Watt era was to be short lived and lasted only a year before they disbanded.

Aiz then went on to form the short lived Angry Snuff Puppett, who recorded a handful of demos and gigged for around a year before disbanding.

While there is a lot of missing pieces of history regarding what Aiz has done since Angry Snuff Puppet, it is known that in 2002 he formed a new band called Ugly Little Secrets who were possibly the band who backed Aiz during his slot on a Tsunami Benefit show. It has also been rumored that Aiz fronted a band which included several members of Rose Tattoo that was formed during the time that Rose Tattoo had disbanded briefly, although this band only recorded a handful of demos before disbanding.Aiz still currently fronts Ugly Little Secrets
