The Seattle Professional Football consortium was the initial owner of the Seattle Seahawks of the NFL. The consortium was awarded an expansion team in 1975 for $16 million. The group was led by led by Lloyd W. Nordstrom of the Nordstrom retailing family and included industrialist D. E. “Ned” Skinner, contractor Howard S. Wright, retailer M. Lamont Bean, and entrepreneur Herman Sarkowsky, who served as the group's chief operating officer.
Lloyd Nordstrom died in 1976 and his 51% share passed to his family. In 1988 the Nordstrom family bought out the other minority owners and then sold the team to Ken Behring and his group for $80 million.
