Vardan has spent his club career in
Armenian Premier League clubs Mika Yerevan andPyunik Yerevan , he was also a member of the Armenia national team, particiapted in 15 international matches since his debut in away friendly match against Peru onJune 20 ,1996 .Managerial career
He started manager's career at Pyunik as assistant coach. Prior to his appointment as manager of Armenia national team, Minasyan was also the assistant coach of
Ian Porterfield , along with fellow assistant coach Tom Jones. When Porterfield resigned as coach in August 2007 due to suffering from advanced cancer, Minasyan was appointed manager of Armenia, and Englishman Tom Jones became his assistant coach and lasted six matches as a manager of Armenia, before being terminated. In January 2008, when Jan Poulsen became Armenia's new coach, Vardan was appointed assistant coach again. In June 2008 Minasyan became a manager of Pyunik, he replacedArmen Gyulbudaghyants after Pyunik's away loss againstGandzasar Kapan .
