Beaver County Airport airport codes|BFP|KBVI|BVI is a county-owned public-use airport located three miles (5 km) northwest of the central business district of Beaver Falls, a city in Beaver County, Pennsylvania, United States.

Although most U.S. airports use the same three-letter location identifier for the FAA and IATA, Beaver County Airport is assigned BVI by the FAA and BFP by the IATA [ [http://gc.kls2.com/airport/BFP Great Circle Mapper: BFP / KBVI - Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania (Beaver County Airport)] ] (which assigned BVI to Birdsville Airport in Birdsville, Queensland, Australia [ [http://gc.kls2.com/airport/BVI Great Circle Mapper: BVI / YBDV - Birdsville, Queensland, Australia] ] ).

Facilities and aircraft

Beaver County Airport covers an area of 228 acres (92 ha) which contains one asphalt paved runway designated 10/28 which measures 4,501 x 100 ft (1,372 x 30 m). For the 12-month period ending December 30, 2006, the airport had 68,940 aircraft operations, an average of 188 per day: 99.9 general aviation and 0.1% military. There are 137 aircraft based at this airport: 78% single-engine, 15% multi-engine, 4% jet and 2% helicopter.

B-17 "Nine-O-Nine"

In August of 1987, the famous B-17 Flying Fortress "Nine-O-Nine" crashed during an airshow at the airport. The plane was attempting to land but ran off the end of the runway where it received extensive damage. It has since been repaired and continues to fly at airshows across the United States.

Beaver Valley Flying Club, Inc

The [http://www.bvifc.org/ Beaver Valley Flying Club, Inc] is a not-for-profit organization which has been in operation since 1967 on the Airport. The Club currently operates three airplanes, two Cessna 172's and a 2002 Archer III.
