In August of 1987, the famous
B-17 Flying Fortress "Nine-O-Nine " crashed during anairshow at the airport. The plane was attempting to land but ran off the end of the runway where it received extensive damage. It has since been repaired and continues to fly at airshows across the United States.Beaver Valley Flying Club, Inc
