basketball player who played at theUniversity of Michigan from 2003 to 2007 and currently playssmall forward for theMemphis Grizzlies of theNBA . Petway played in the
NBA D-League in 2007–08 for theIdaho Stampede , a development team for thePortland Trail Blazers and theSeattle SuperSonics . Because of his high jumps, and the ability to dunk, he has been given the nickname "Air Georgia". This is similar toVince Carter , who was nicknamed AirCanada , while playing for theToronto Raptors . Petway averaged 5.8 PPG at Michigan.Petway won the inaugural D-League Slam Dunk Contest at D-League Dream Factory Friday Night on February 15 during the 2008 NBA All-Star Weekend. Petway defeated his Idaho teammate Mike Taylor in the finals with an alley-oop, through-the-legs dunk. He has subsequently challenged the NBA dunk contest champion Dwight Howard to a dunk-off between the NBA and D-League jammers.
