mile s in 15 minutes as ayouth and setting a new record for ayouth at TheChampionship Course (just over 4 miles) in Northumberland of 20 minutes 34 seconds in 1966.This led him to be selected to run for Northumberland & Durham, and then
England .He was taken under the wing of Scottish athlete

The Netherlands in 1966. InAmsterdam he won the400m ,800m and1500m . Later Fogerty travelled toRotterdam , to compete in the Men's 1500m finishing 3rd (as ayouth at the age of 15).The
UK and Ireland Championships followed in 1967 where Fogerty finished 4th in the Men's 4mile race.He was seen a major prospect by
UK athletics, however aknee injury, suffered whiletraining , cut Fogerty's athleticscareer short.External links
