Edmonton Public Library

The Edmonton Public Library (EPL) is a publicly funded library institution in the city of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, available for use by any member of the public. Children are eligible for free library membership, while adults pay a yearly fee.

It has a catalogue of over 1.5 million fiction and non-fiction titles, as well as many volumes of paperback fiction which are not included in the catalogue. It covers sixteen locations, the oldest of which is the Strathcona branch. The Main Branch covers four floors in central downtown. The EPL also maintains close ties with several academic libraries, most notably the University of Alberta library system, which offers more than six million more academic titles to EPL members. The Edmonton Public Library is also a member of "The Alberta Library", a province-wide system that allows access to material from every member library in Alberta.
