Organization

The International Taekwon-Do Federation Singapore or (ITF Singapore) was founded by Mr. Daniel Sng (Business Registration Number: 53092572M) with the sole objective of taking the standard of ITF Taekwon-Do in Singapore to greater heights. In order to work towards this vision, ITF Singapore constantly organises events both local and overseas annually for its members. This includes local/overseas martial art seminars, annual club dinners and an annual local championship for its members. Students also have option to compete in regional and international ITF tournaments.

ITF Singapore is affiliated with the International Taekwon-Do Federation (INO#35) under Grandmaster Choi Jung Hwa, Son of the Founder of Taekwon-Do.

Headquarter

The Headquarter of the International Taekwon-Do Federation Singapore is Island Taekwon-Do Centre. The centralised dojang (training centre) was founded on 31st March 1992 and is located at 176 Tyrwhitt Road #03-176, Singapore 207 576. The Headquarter has seen many famous Taekwon-Do practitioners pass through its doors since its establishment. Its most honored guest was the Founder of Taekwon-Do, Grandmaster General Choi Hong Hi, who visited the centre in 2000.

Founder

Mr. Daniel Sng C H is the founder of the International Taekwon-Do Federation Singapore. A born Singaporean, Mr Sng started his training in Taekwon-Do in 1968 and attained 1st Dan (1st Degree) in 1973 under Director Lee Jung Nam of the Korea Tae Kwon Do Bong Hwa Gymnasium. For his 2nd Dan (2nd Degree) examination, he graded under a panel of local ITF pioneer examiners from the United Tae kwon-Do Group Singapore. (Robert Chan Sze, Jimmy Too & John Nah). Mr Sng's 3rd & 4th Dan (Degree) examiniation were conducted by Master Leong Wai Meng. His 5th Dan (Degree) grading was conducted by the Founder of Taekwon-Do, Grandmaster General Choi Hong Hi assisted by Master Choi Jung Hwa in KL, Malaysia. His 6th Dan (Degree) under the current ITF President Grandmaster Choi Jung Hwa in Melbourne, Australia and his 7th Dan (Degree) was tested in Singapore by Master Trevor Nicholls, ITF Secretary General and 8th Degree Blackbelt.

yllabus

ITF Singapore follows the official International Taekwon-Do Federation syllabus closely. Physical exercises, Patterns (Tul), Pre-arranged Sparring, Foot Sparring, Self Defence, Free Sparring & Board Breaking are all standard components of an ITF Singapore senior blackbelt examination.
