- Sphinganine kinase
In
enzymology , a sphinganine kinase (EC number|2.7.1.91) is anenzyme that catalyzes thechemical reaction :ATP + sphinganine ADP + sphinganine 1-phosphate
Thus, the two substrates of this enzyme are ATP and
sphinganine , whereas its two products are ADP andsphinganine 1-phosphate .This enzyme belongs to the family of
transferase s, specifically those transferring phosphorus-containing groups (phosphotransferase s) with an alcohol group as acceptor. The systematic name of this enzyme class is ATP:sphinganine 1-phosphotransferase. Other names in common use include dihydrosphingosine kinase, dihydrosphingosine kinase (phosphorylating), and sphingosine kinase (phosphorylating). This enzyme participates in 3 metabolic pathways:sphingolipid metabolism ,calcium signaling pathway , andvegf signaling pathway .References
