Location
It is located about 7 KM from the Arabian sea. The approximate distance from major towns are Kanyakumari (25 KM), Trivandrum (65 KM), Tirunelveli (80 KM), Chennai and Bangalore (800 km). It is a relatively new community carving out agricultural lands surrounding the fertile Parvathipuram area. Peruvilai and Kottavilai are adjoining villages. People living in Christopher Nagar hail from different villages in the Kanyakumari district and set to establish this community in 1980s in order to work in Nagercoil city.
Accessibility
It is only 6 KM from Nagercoil and about 1 KM from Parvathipuram. Parvathipuram is a junction situated in NH 47 between Trivandrum and Nagercoil. All the public transportation buses en route to Trivandrum and other locations in western Kanyakumari district halt at Parvathipuram. Christopher Nagar can be reached by about 20 minutes walk from Parvathipuram or by taking an Autorickshaw for 15 Rupees.A minibus from Vadasery bus stand with destination to Kottavilai passes through Christopher Nagar every day with a relatively low frequency.
Life
Christopher Nagar has a primary school where kids from both Christopher Nagar and nearby villages do their primary education. The people in this small community belong to all major religions in India and are served by a Church and a Shashtha temple.
People here live a very simple and mundane life.
