The Kids (Belgian band)

The Kids are a Belgian punk rock band formed in 1976. They broke up in the 1980s, but came back together in 1996 for the soundtrack recording of Belgian film "Dief" ("Thief"). They have been together even since and still play gigs around the world.

*1976: Inspired by the upcoming punk wave, Ludo Mariman and the De Haes brothers formed The Kids.
*1977: The Kids signed their first record contract with Phonogram. They played support acts for Iggy Pop and Patti Smith.
*1978: Their first album "The Kids" was recorded and guitarist Luk van de Poel reinforced the band. The same year they played in the famous Jazz Bilzen festival. Eight months later the second album "Naughty Kids" was released.
