The 107th season of the Campeonato Paulista Série A1 kicked off in
January 16 2008 , and is scheduled to end on May 2008.Format
The format is identical to the 2007 edition. 20 teams will compete, each team playing the other 19 once. At the first stage finale, the top four teams will qualify to the semifinals, with the bottom four clubs being relegated to Série A2. The four teams placed between 5th and 8th (with the exception of Corinthians, Juventus, Palmeiras, Portuguesa, Santos and São Paulo) will compete in the Torneio do Interior.
