Jenny Lin (born 1973 in Taiwan) is one of the most sough-after young pianists today, currently residing in New York City. A leading advocate of new music, she is equally at home in the classical repertoire. She regularly collaborates with composers; including
James Tenney ,Frederic Rzewski ,Elliott Sharp , Johannes Maria Staud andValentin Silvestrov , several of whom have written works for her.Lin’s recordings are widely represented by Koch International Classics, Hänssler Classic, BIS Records and Sunrise Records. Her discography includes the critically acclaimed "Preludes to a Revolution" - a collection of Russian Piano Preludes from 1905 to 1922, "The 11th Finger" – virtuosic contemporary solo piano pieces, "Chinoiserie" – compositions by Western composers inspired by China, piano music of Valentin Silvestrov, complete piano music of
Ruth Crawford Seeger ,Liszt Sonata and Schumann Fantasy, works by Chinese composers Guan Xia and Ma Yo-Dao, and an album of works for piano and orchestra byErnest Bloch with the SWR German Radio Orchestra.Lin studied with Noel Flores at the Hochschule für Musik in Vienna, with Julian Martin at the
Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, and with Dominique Weber in Geneva. She has also worked withRichard Goode and Blanca Uribe in New York, and withDimitri Bashkirov andAndreas Staier at the Fondazione Internazionale per il pianoforte in Cadenabbia, Italy.
