Primož Ramovš (b.
Ljubljana , March 20, 1921 - d. there, 1999) was aSlovenia n composer.Ramovš studied at the Ljubljana Academy of Music from 1935-1941 under
Slavko Osterc ; following this he studied inSiena underVito Frazzi in 1941 and inRome withGoffredo Petrassi andAlfredo Casella from 1941-1943. In 1945 he began working at the Slovene Academy of Sciences and Art, where he became director in 1952. He also taught at theLjubljana Conservatory from 1948-1964. Ramovš's early works are neoclassical in style, but later works employserialism and other modernist techniques.Works
