Atlantic is a Staten Island Railway train station in the neighborhood of Tottenville, Staten Island, New York. Located roughly at Fisher Avenue and Arthur Kill Road on the main line, it is at grade level with side platforms that can only hold one car, making this another flag station (like Nassau station). Access on the northbound platform is via a short dead-end street off of Arthur Kill Road between Fisher and Wood Avenues, while the southbound platform is reached from an entance on Ellis Street, and an overpass links both platforms. One can see the original remains of the old SIRT before the majority of station renovations on this line, with the steel corrugated walls, overpasses and original convert|4|ft|m|sing=on high station railings with faded signs. The station gets its name from the former Atlantic Terra Cotta factory, which was located near the station.
This and the Nassau stations are expected to be replaced by a new ADA compliant station, Arthur Kill Road. It is planned to be built on Arthur Kill Road, which lies between the two stations. The unrenovated Atlantic and Nassau stations are the only visual remains of when the SIRT built new platforms in the 1960’s during the multi-phase grade elimination project, without platform canopies or shelters.
