- Wendell State Forest
Wendell State Forest, convert|7566|acre|km2, is located on a forested and hilly upland plateau south of the
Millers River and west of theQuabbin Reservoir inMassachusetts . Much of the park roads were developed by theCivilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s. There is a day use area at Ruggles Pond in the center of the state forest. Backcountry camping is available at alean-to along theMetacomet-Monadnock Trail . The forest is used for mountain biking, swimming, hiking, and hunting (in season), as well as forest product extraction.References
