Timothy William Lahey (pronounced "LAY-hee") (born February 7, 1982 in city-state|Worcester|Massachusetts) is a Major League Baseball relief pitcher for the Minnesota Twins.

After graduating from St. John's High School (Shrewsbury, MA), Lahey attended Princeton University, where he played college ball. From by|2001 to by|2004, Lahey was primarily a catcher. He made Second Team All-Ivy League in by|2004, his senior year.

Lahey was selected by the Minnesota Twins in the 20th round (601st overall) of the 2004 Major League Baseball draft. After being signed, he was assigned to the Rookie League Elizabethton Twins, where he would spend the entire 2004 season. Lahey played in 26 games and batted .202 with 3 home runs.

In by|2005, Lahey spent the entire season in Elizabethton as a converted pitcher. Lahey was their closer and led the team with 15 saves and 26 games. He went 0-1 with a 3.55 ERA in his first professional season as a pitcher. Lahey was promoted to the Single-A Fort Myers Miracle for the by|2006 season. Playing in 44 games, he went 7-1 with a 4.40 ERA and notched 8 saves.

Lahey began the by|2007 season for the Double-A New Britain Rock Cats. Making 50 relief appearances, he had 13 saves and went 8-4 with a 3.45 ERA. On August 29, 2007, he was promoted to the Triple-A Rochester Red Wings. Lahey finished the season with them, pitching in 2 games and had a 9.00 ERA with 1 save.

On December 6, 2007, Lahey was selected by the Tampa Bay Rays with the first overall pick in the major league phase of the Rule 5 draft. After selecting him, Lahey was immediately traded to the Chicago Cubs for cash considerations.

On March 23, by|2008, Lahey was claimed off waivers by the Philadelphia Phillies. Lahey began the by|2008 season in the Phillies bullpen. On April 5, after not appearing in a game, he was designated for assignment. Lahey was reclaimed by the Twins on April 12, 2008 and assigned back to Rochester.
