Paulo Sergio Gómez Sánchez, better known as Sergio Gómez, was a Mexican singer who was the founder and lead vocalist of the
duranguense groupK-Paz de la Sierra .He had a usual career jump he was a small town guy who went to a big city and succeed greatly. Before his death the group of K-Paz de la Sierra had many disputes and some of the members even ended up leaving.
He was born in the city of
Ciudad Hidalgo, Michoacán in 1973. In 2003, while working as an immigrant in the city ofChicago in theUnited States , he created K-Paz De La Sierra with other native Mexicans also working as immigrants in Chicago.On December 3, 2007, after a concert in the city of
Morelia, Michoacán , he was kidnapped, tortured and murdered.After this his popularity multiplied and songs and albums of his group K-Paz grew in popularity.Many of the members of K-Paz are sad but the members that left before the tragedy seem even happy like the "Majestad de la Sierra" show signs that the death of Mr. Gomez helped their career. He will be remember for ever that is for sure.

December 6 ,2007 Gómez, as well as another murdered Mexican musician,Valentín Elizalde , were nominated posthumously for theGrammy Awards .
