Swami Chinmayanand

Swami Chinmayanand (born 3 March, 1947) is a former union minister state of India. He was minister of state for internal affairs in Third Vajpayee Ministry. He was elected to Lok Sabha from Jaunpur in Uttar Pradesh as a Bharatiya Janata Party candidate. He was born in Gonda district in 1947 in a royal family of Avadh, but renounced royalty as a young man inspired by the teachings of Buddha and Mahavir. He completed MA from Lucknow University.He is unmarried. His interests include tantra, philosophy, yoga and Hindu mythology. He also completed doctorate. He is the Editor of two monthly magazines, Pramarath and Vivek Rashmi.
