HMS "Dominica" (K507) was a Colony-class
frigate of theUnited Kingdom duringWorld War II .The ship, originally named "Harman" and designated a Patrol Gunboat (PG-187), was built under Maritime Commission contract by
Walsh-Kaiser Co., Inc. ,Providence, R.I. Intended for use by the United Kingdom, she was reclassified as a Patrol Frigate (PF-79) on15 April 1943 , renamed "Dominica", and launched on14 September 1943 , sponsored by Mrs. Andrew D. Manchester. "Dominica" was then completed and transferred to the United Kingdom underLend-Lease on25 January 1944 as part of the 21-ship "Colony" class. She served as a patrol vessel and escort until being returned to the United States on23 April 1946 . The frigate was subsequently sold to Sun Shipbuilding & Drydock Co.,Chester, Pennsylvania , on27 March 1947 and scrapped.References
