synonyms ="Allium obtusum" is a species of wild onion known by the common name red Sierra onion. It is native to the
granite hills and mountains ofNevada and easternCalifornia where it is a common member of the local flora. The red Sierra onion grows from abulb one or two centimeters wide and bears a stem which may be tall or short. Atop the stem is aninflorescence of up to 60 flowers which May 4 to 12 millimeters wide. The flowers are white to pink with dark midveins.External links
