1982 to serve as an advocate for the landmark federal programs of Social Security and Medicare and for all Americans who seek a healthy, productive and secure retirement. In the past several months, the National Committee has been involved in current Medicare issues. Some of their successful campaign activities include visiting every representative's office on Capitol Hill [ [http://www.ncpssm.org/pdf/fall_2007_newsletter.pdf NCPSSM Newsletter] ] to deliver hundreds of fact sheets concerning Medicare as well as pill boxes imprinted with the message "Support H.R. 3162 - The CHAMP Act Is the Right Prescription for Medicare". The H.R. 3162 - Children's Health and Medicare Protection Act of 2007 bill was later passed by a vote of 225-204.
