The Bullet (UMW)

The Bullet is the University of Mary Washington's official weekly student newspaper, formed in 1922. Located in Fredericksburg, Virginia., the student publication is printed every Thursday, and distributed to the UMW Undergraduate campus. Its website [http://www.umwbullet.com] averages 500 hits per day and its circulation is approximately 4,000.Serving Fredericksburg, Virginia; Washington, D.C. and the University of Mary Washington, "The Bullet" stresses the importance of campus-wide events as well as national and international occurrences. Bringing the community newsworthy material, event coverage and community and student voices, "The Bullet" strives for excellence and strong journalistic integrity in both its reporting and balanced presentation.

Awards

The Bullet has received numerous awards from the Society of Professional Journalists and the Associated Collegiate Press and Newspaper Association of America Foundation.
