The Episcopal Diocese of Hawaii is the ecclesiastical territory or
diocese of the Episcopal Church of theAnglican Communion in theUnited States encompassing the state ofHawaii . It is led by the Episcopal Bishop of Hawaiipastor ing theHawaiian Islands from the Cathedral Church of Saint Andrew in Honolulu.The territorial jurisdiction which the Episcopal Diocese of Honolulu holds today was given up to American Episcopalians after the
overthrow of Queen Liliuokalani, head of theChurch of Hawaii . The Church of Hawaii, also called the Hawaii Reformed Catholic Church, was established byKamehameha IV and Emma in1862 . The king and queen, friends of Queen Victoria of theUnited Kingdom , were devout members of theChurch of England . Episcopalians continue the Anglican Church of Hawaii tradition of celebrating theFeast of the Holy Sovereigns eachNovember 28 , in honor of Kamhehameha IV and Queen Emma.External links
