British International School Prague

The British International School Prague (BISP) is the former name of the Prague British School Prague.

The Prague British School is the new name for the British International School, Prague. The school was founded in 1992 by Swiss-Slovak Robert Blaško. The school opened as Prague British School in September 2007.

PBS is an independent English language, multinational day school, providing British education for children aged between 20 months and 19 years.

Pupils up to Year 9 follow the National Curriculum for England. Pupils in Years 10 and 11 follow the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), followed by the International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma in years 12 and 13.

Classes throughout the school are small which allows for carefully planned individual programmes of study where needed. All instruction is in English with extensive support for children for whom English is not a first language. Having introduced the IGCSE programme in 1996 and the IB two years later, students consistently achieve results well above the UK average and in line with independent UK schools. Students in the primary school take the UK National Curriculum Standard Assessment Tests (SATs) and results consistently exceed the UK national guidelines.

All teaching staff are highly qualified and experienced graduate teachers, with relevant experience of the National Curriculum, IGCSE and IB programmes. All the language teachers are specialist native speakers.

The British International School has three sites.

Modřany (Prague 4 - south east Prague) Age 20 months 6 - Years
